Teaching and research serve two distinct directions in academics. First, both continue and evolve knowledge into representable thoughts.

However the distinction is:

  • Teaching provides an opportunity to share existing knowledge.

  • Research provides the opportunity to create new knowledge.

With teaching, the appropriate level of knowledge must be made accessible to the students. In particular, I believe that any complex system may be taught to a student of any age or skill level. This is done by incorporating previous learning constructs with the new material and allowing the students to understand why that condition must be possible; thus, deeper insight is provided for those who are more experienced.
